Islamic Summer School 2011
It is the utmost pleasure of The Islamic Summer School to announce the opening of registration for its Summer 2011 season. Our goals continue to be:
1- Promoting a strong sense of Islamic identity,
2- Teaching proper behavior,
3- Enrichment of religious knowledge,
4- Exposure to Islamic heritage, and
5- Development of interpersonal communication among attendees.
The positive experience of Islamic Summer Schools 2002 through 2010 is the foundation for this summer. It is nevertheless critical that the whole community join hands to help this project thrive to maintain it as a regular program in the future. This can be in registering children, sponsoring a child or a teacher, volunteering, and by other means.
When: Monday, June 20, 2011 – Thursday, July 21, 2011. Graduation Ceremony is on Saturday, July 23, 2011.
Where: Based on feedback expressed by students, parents, and teachers, we will be using again the Eagle Heights Community Center for this summer program. For maps to the location, please see http://www.housing.wisc.edu/universityapartments/maps.html
Quran Reading Program:
This summer, an optional program on Quran Reading and Memorization will be offered once again. Teams will be formed based on age and skills. Sessions are 90 minutes each, and will meet after dismissal of the regular program. Separate fees are required for this optional program.
What's new (again):
Theme: Teachers and students will adopt a theme that would emphasize one of the main goals of the Summer School.
Snack Program: There will be a parent-sponsored healthy snack program for the students during the mid morning sessions.
Garden: Student will be planting, caring, and harvesting herbs and vegetable at the Eagle Heights gardens.
Discount: 50% discount will apply for all siblings of a full-tuition paying student. This discount applies only if registered and paid by June 3, 2011.
What to do:
If you want to sponsor a student or a teacher, as a tax deductible charity, please fill and return the Contribution Slip shown below along with your contribution.
If you want to register a student: Please complete the attached Student Registration Form in FULL. The deadline for Early Registration is Friday, June 3rd, 2011. After June 3rd, the registration fees will increase.
